Why support climate solutions?

At Stony Book, climate change is not just a hot topic — it is a mission supported by our whole university. With urgent environmental challenges on the rise, from extreme weather to pollution and ecological issues, our efforts are more critical than ever. As a leader in these areas, we are committed to collaborating across disciplines to make measurable progress for the health of our planet.

Why now?

Stony Brook has defined a path for measurable climate progress. We are the anchor institution for The New York Climate Exchange and our School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences is ranked in the top tier nationally. Our students and faculty are developing solutions that make a worldwide impact — helping combat climate challenges, clean up our ground and water, and address environmental injustices. Together, we can work toward a more sustainable future.
