Why support arts and culture?

At Stony Brook, we believe the arts are a bridge connecting us all. Our students have outstanding talent, but many have not had the resources to hone their skills, share their work, or gain exposure to professional artists and cultural institutions. We are committed to empowering diverse voices and sharing cultural experiences to nurture the next generation of creative minds and enrich the lives of our students and the Long Island community.

Why now?

Stony Brook has always been a place for creative thinkers, bringing together diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences. Over the years, we have expanded our programs and attracted visionaries in music, performing arts, fine arts, and writing — helping shape creative minds into accomplished artists. Today, we continue to uplift and enrich our community by producing memorable events at our Staller Center for the Arts and off-campus cultural centers. Together, we can empower cultural experiences and expand the power of the arts.
